Start em’ if you got ‘em – Week 14

Playoffs? Playoffs! Who’s in? I made it in 2 out of 3 leagues, and that’s the hardest part. All you have to do is get in, now anything can happen. Scared of that first seed? Don’t be. Anyone can win in any given week, hope some of these guys will be the reason why. Good luck to everyone, hope you all win and will be reading this next week.

Start ‘em if you got ‘em

Quarterback

Shaun Hill @ WAS – Washington has been awful vs the pass and is currently giving up the most fantasy points to QB’s. I’m starting him in my touchdown only league and should be good for two TD’s this week. St Louis scored a cool 52 points last week, hopefully they saved some for this week.

Colin Kaepernick @ OAK – It’s been a while since we were able to rely on him, but the matchup is perfect this week and he is too exciting for me not to like. The upside this week is huge, and I’d roll the dice with him. He hasn’t had a multi-touchdown game since week 6, so this is more of a gut feeling than anything else.

Running Back

Eddie Lacy vs ATL – Not a guy you are sitting, but in case you need assurance, here it is, START LACY. He’s going to have a great Monday night vs one of the league’s worst run D’s. Did not get in the end zone last week, but I basically guarantee he will in week 14.

Joique Bell vs TB – I don’t know why I keep coming back to the Lion running backs, but I always do. Joique came through for all of us on Turkey Day, and I think he does again vs Tampa Bay. Tampa is giving up 115 yards on the ground per game and are tied for 4th most touchdowns given up via the run. Start Bell with confidence, even with Bush “expected” to play.

Wide Receiver

Josh Gordon vs IND – Well before looking at any of the football reasons, I’m playing him in both leagues, so you know he is going to have a nice day. The guy is a straight stud, but has not gotten in the end zone yet. That will change this week. He will be good for his first score of the year on Sunday, even with Davis on him. No one is really giving the Browns a chance in this one, but I think otherwise.

Kenny Stills vs CAR – He’s been on fire since Cooks went out, and is now an every week starter. Carolina has struggled vs the pass and Brees is on a tear right now. Stills is a guy who can win you a league down this last stretch.

Tight End

Delanie Walker vs NYG – The Giants have been bad vs tight ends, so it’s a good matchup for Walker who was quiet last week. I like him to bounce back in this one. He can be trusted this week as a TE1. The performance two weeks ago with 5-155 is why he has some intriguing upside each week.

Defense

San Francisco @ OAK – Great matchup this week and can be trusted. They can get to the quarterback and whoever Oakland starts will be prone to throwing interceptions.

Sit ‘em and quit ‘em

Quarterback

Kyle Orton @ DEN – I really hope you aren’t starting Orton, but if you were thinking about it, hopefully this puts it to rest. He’s on the road vs his former team, and this one could get ugly. He has only one 300 yard game on the season and is turnover prone, I’d stay away, far away.

Mark Sanchez vs SEA – I don’t think he can put back-to-back good games together, plus it’s a very tough matchup with Seattle coming into town. I’d look elsewhere this week and use him next week vs Dallas. He’s running this offense pretty efficiently, but does have 6 picks in 5 games.

Running Back

Fred Jackson @ DEN – He’s definitely back in the lead role with 21 carries last week, but Denver is just not giving up anything on the ground right now. If you have someone else with more upside, I’d look there, Jackson could get some catches as they will be trailing, but Brown may vulture those.

Alfred Morris vs STL – The Rams are another defense that is just clicking right now. I do not want any part of a running back who is playing against them. You can sit Morris in this spot, which is disappointing as you probably need him in the playoffs.

Wide Receiver

Keenan Allen vs NE – He’s been playing very well, but you have to think New England will do a lot of different things to limit him. Revis will be following him and Browner can give him trouble as a bigger guy. I’m not taking my chances here, even though he’s been hot.

Sammy Watkins @ DEN – Three weeks in a row? I like to switch it up, but when a guy is just not involved it’s hard to take him off of here. The Denver secondary is very talented and I just don’t see the Bills moving the ball on them. He’s a little banged up and has not had more than 4 catches in a game since week 7. In fact, he’s only had 5 or more catches in 3 games the entire season. Hard to trust right now.

Tight End

Larry Donnell @ TEN – Yea, you know the last time I said to sit him? Three touchdowns at Washington, so let’s hope that doesn’t happen again. The Titans have not been awful vs the pass, but I just don’t trust the way the Giants and Manning are playing right now. He had a healthy 7 targets last week, but this is not a guy they are forcing the ball to.

Defense

Buffalo @ DEN – It’s the Broncos in Denver and Manning is due for a big game after the mediocre one he had last week. They have Green Bay next week, but if you have the extra roster spot and can hold on to them, they will be a good bet in week 16 at Oakland.
