Free Agents pick ups for Week 6

Here’s the best pickups you can make during the week before your Fantasy really kicks off on Sunday. You can always email me with direct questions relating to your fantasy team a jbailleu14@gmail.com.

Quarterbacks
Terrelle Pryor of the Oakland Raiders is probably the hottest pick up on the wire right now, only owned in 54% of fantasy leagues. This kid has proved all the doubters wrong after finally getting an opportunity. He's not the most accurate quarterback on the market, but he doesn't make bad decisions, and uses his legs as well as anyone in the league. Did I mention he's the Raiders lone source for offense in the absence of McFadden? If this guy is still available and you're struggling at the position I'd pick him up. Even playing against Kansas City this week Pryor will open some eyes and score some points.
Alex Smith of the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs is probably the most reliable pickup on the wire right now only owned in 58% of Yahoo Fantasy Leagues. I know he's not flashy, and yes they lean on the running game, but Oakland's defense can give up some points to Quarterbacks. You can't go wrong with Smith or Pryor this week, the scoring will be higher than most people think between these two teams.

Running Backs
Willis Mcgahee of the Cleveland Browns has to be the best back on a high percentage of free agent lists right now. I know he's not the most explosive guy, but he will get 20 touches a game and knows how to stay healthy and avoid big hits. He's their only red zone option with Hoyer being out due to injury. He is a backend RB2 and definite flex option this week against the Detroit Lions. Don't get too high on this guy and think the Lions can be walked on, they have a tough run defense and great front 4 only play him if you have no higher options.
Zac Stacy is going to get the nod for the St. Louis Rams after averaging 5.6 yards per carry this past week in Jacksonville. Daryl Richardson wasn't able to move the sticks or the pile for that matter and has lost the starting job. Stacy is a RB3 just because of the unknown factor this will be his first heavy workload of the season against Houston, who gives up the 11th most fantasy points to running backs. Worth a start if you need a bye week replacement.

Wide Receivers
Donnie Avery has to be the most daring play this week off of the wire. Only owned in 23% of fantasy leagues this guy is a STEAL. Dwayne Bowe has been invisible to Alex Smith so far this year and Avery has become the first option in a run heavy offense. Oakland gives up the 6th most fantasy points to receivers this year. If you are in a crunch at this position Avery is a shoe in at WR3 this week.
Terrance Williams of the Dallas Cowboys has quickly become a real threat in the Cowboy's pass happy offense led by Tony Romo. So putting the whole Romo saga aside, people forget that this kid led the Boys in receiving during the shootout in Denver, putting up a boatload of Fantasy Points. Things don't get any harder for Dallas as they go to the weak secondary of the Washington Redskins this Sunday night. Williams is a sure fire WR3, and a great fill in if you're in a bye week crunch. Or you can stash him as trade bait like I did.

Tight Ends
Garrett Graham is a plug and play TE1 this week against the weak St. Louis Rams defense. With Owen Daniels out this week and possibly longer with injury Graham will see more targets and be a large part of the offense. He's my sneaky play this week and I think he'll have a huge game, dare I say Jimmy Graham like. They share the same last name, look for him to be up there with Jimmy in points this week.

Defense/Special Teams
New York Jets are my steal of the week off of the wire as they take on the Steelers. I personally play matchups when it comes to defense, I don't like the idea of staying with one defense for the entire year. I've dropped Cincinnati, New England, amongst others throughout the season so far, I even played St. Louis last week (against the Jags). This is the best matchup available on most free agency lists this week. Take the Jets as the Steelers are desperately hurting on offense. This will be a low scoring game with turnovers by Big Ben and Bell. Probably a few special teams mishaps as well. As for the best play this week it would be the Bears Defense against the Giants tonight.

I hope this helps you with your fantasy endeavors, like I mentioned above email me with questions and check the blog daily for updates and help. Thanks!
