Week 12 Studs and Duds

By Paul Batts

Happy Thanksgiving weekend folks and welcome back to Studs,Duds and Stashes. I sincerely apologise for missing week 11. My computer crashed so there was no way to post. I hope that everyone was able to pull off the important win as every week counts in this stretch run towards the playoffs. In addition, I will be making a format change as the playoffs approach. The article will be condensed for easier reading. Please let me know which format you prefer so that I can better suit your reading pleasure going forward.

Matt Ryan-Look for a statement game for Ryan after his horrible five interception performance in week 11.

Doug Martin-Martin is the hottest runner in the league and facing an Atlanta team that's giving up five yards a carry. Ride Martin into the playoffs.

Andrew Luck-Luck is a much better player at home and is facing a Bills team that has surrendered 19 touchdowns through the air. He'll have a big game this week.

Peyton Manning-A lot of teams that drafted Manning in the middle round of drafts will be heading to the playoffs. You can feel comfortable starting him as he'll be leaned on even more with McGahee out.

Andy Dalton-Dalton beats up on the lesser defenses in the league and Oakland ranks 28th against the pass..a good week is ahead for the Red Rifle.

Chris Johnson-After disappointing everyone to start the season, Johnson is averaging seven yards a carry and over 100 yards per game over the last four games.Start him until he disappoints.

Vick Ballard-This is a great match up at home and Ballard is the lead back now.Should score at least once this week.

Marcel Reece-As of today McFadden hasn't been ruled out so watch that situation but Reece has been better so they won't rush DMC back.

Benjarvis Green-Ellis-The Lawfirm came through for owners who stuck with him last week and should have a similar performance against the Raiders.

Bryce Brown-With McCoy most likely out and rookie Nick Foles under center, the rookie will be leaned on against a bad Panthers run defense.

Stevie Johnson-The Colts have had trouble stopping #1 wide receivers

AJ Green-Green is in the discussion for the best wide reciever in the game and has a juicy match up vs the Raiders.

Roddy White-With Jones hurt White will be targeted early and often against a bad Oakland pass D.Monster game ahead for White.

Randall Cobb-Cobb has become an every week start and has a good match up against the Giants corners.Start him.

Reggie Wayne-This is a great match up against the Bills.Look for Wayne to be involved early as this is a statement game for Andrew Luck.

Victor Cruz-Look for a bounce back week for Cruz this week in this important NFC match up.Cruz has a way of showing up for big games.

Vernon Davis-Davis exploded against the Bears with Kaepernick under center and Kaepernick should get the nod again this week.Stick with Davis.

Jermaine Gresham-Gresham should have a big week against a bad Oakland pass D.

Tony Gonzalez-The old man will be relied on more as Julio Jones is on the mend.Even if Jones plays he will likely be more of a decoy.

Marcedes Lewis-the Titans struggle against tight ends and Lewis had a big week with Chad Henne under center. You could do worse than Lewis this week.

Brandon Weeden-Weeden has failed to throw for 200 yards in two of the last three and faces the best pass defense in the league.Sit him.

Reggie Bush-Has fallen out of favor after a quick start and doesn't fare well against physical run defenses.Sit him until he produces.

Josh Freeman-Freeman struggles against the Falcons with only two touchdowns vs. five interceptions in his career.

Mike Turner-As predicted Turner has been used less as the season wore on and now faces the #1 rush defense in the league.

Jamal Charles-You probably have to start Charles if you have him but the Broncos are #2 against runners so temper your expectations.

Matt Forte-The Vikings will be able to key on Forte with Cutler likely out.

Ryan Mathews-Mathews has yet to rush for 100 yards and has one touchdown on the ground.Baltimore's defense isn't what it used to be but Mathews is inconsistent. If you have better options go with them

Fred Jackson-Jackson will play but CJ Spiller will get the start and the 'majority' of the carries.

Ahmad Bradshaw-Bradshaw is expected to play but you'll have to monitor his injuries and he is losing goal line carries-precede with caution.

Larod Stephens-Howling-The hyphen came up big for owners in need in week 11 but Beanie Wells return should push him back to the bench.

Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson-These guys completely disappeared with Foles under center last week and it should be more of the same in week 12.

Mike Wallace-Wallace is missing Big Ben's strong arm as he relies on the long ball for production.

Larry Fitzgerald-With Ryan Lindly under center its hard to expect a good game out of Fitz.Disappointing.

Scott Chandler-Indy does a good job at limiting tight ends and Chandler is as inconsistent as they come.

Greg Olsen-Atlanta is 5th against the tight end and Olsen is inconsistent.Look for a better option.
