Studs, Duds and Stashes week 6

Bengals at Browns

STUD-Dalton-Dalton andshould have a field day against a Browns defense that is near the bottom vs QBs(27) this year. Top corner Joe Haden is back from suspension and he’ll be on Green so Dalton may spread the ball around a bit more this week
DUD-Gresham-Cleveland does one thing well on Defense and that’s limit tight ends. Gresham has been disappointing this year anyway. You most likely have better options this week.
STASH-Andre Hawkins-Hawkins came out of nowhere this year to become a very solid wr in ppr leagues. Cleveland is 31st vs opposing wrs and Dalton may need to look away from AJ green a bit more with Haden back. Hawkins is a decent start this week and a great stash for the rest of this year.

STUD-Trent Richardson-Trich was touted as the next Adrian Peterson and has looked every bit the part after a somewhat slow start. Start him with confidence vs the 26th ranked fantasy defense vs rbs
DUD-Greg Little-Little has been the model of inconsistency so far in his young career. He drops the ball way too much and has been losing looks to Josh Gordon, Travis Benjamin, and Jordan Norwood.
Stash-Jordan Norwood-Norwood has been targeted 19 times in the last 2 games after being inactive the first 3. If this keeps up he’ll be a monster start in ppr leagues before too long

Cowboys at Ravens

STUD-Witten-Witten started off the season obviously hurt and had a slow start. Nobody is sitting him after his 13 catch performance in week 4. The extra week off should mean a 100% Witten. Start him.
DUD-Romo-Romo took a lot of heat for his week 4 performance in which he threw 5 ints. Not all of them were his fault but he’ll be playing in a hostile environment where the Raven will try to get into his head. Stay away if you can
STASH-Murry-Demarco has been disappointing so far largely because of sub- par blocking but he’s young and determined with breakaway speed and a tough demeanor. He’ll rebound but not this week.
STUD-Ray Rice-Rice owners took him at the top of drafts because he is the model of consistencey. He only has 3 tds on the year but expect him to be heavily involved at home vs Dallas.
DUD-Torrey Smith-Smith is a boom or bust player that is facing a Dallas team that’s 2 against wrs. Expect more bust than boom this week
STASH-Pitta-Dennis came out of almost nowhere and exploded on the scene in the first 3 weeks but has been down the last 2. Owners are getting restless with him but he will be involved going forward.

Lions at Eagles

STUD-Calivin Johnson-Megatron is the best wr in football and was drafted in the 1st round of every draft. His TD numbers have been down but he’s crucial to Detroit’s success. Stafford will find ways to get him the ball
DUD-Titus Young-Young was supposed to be a breakout player this year bust has been a major bust. He’s shown up on the injury report but is expected to play. Sit him anyway.
STASH-Jahvid Best-By the time you read this we may have heard news on Best’s possible return. If he is cleared for contact he can play for Detroit as soon as next week. He has kept himself in great shape and is eager to return. He’s a dynamic player that can score from anywhere on the field. If he’ still on your waiver wire, stop reading and grab him NOW

Colts at Jets

STUD-Andrew Luck-Hes getting better every week. After being overshadowed by fellow rookie RG3 Luck had a breakout game vs the Packers in a highly emotional win.#chuckstrong
DUD-Reggie Wayne-I had Donald Brown on the list but since he’s injured now I’m going to tell you to temper your expectations with Reggie Wayne this week..A.Cromartie has been shutting down opposing wrs including Andre Johnson in week 5..tough matchup for Reggie this week
STASH-Vick Ballard-I had Ballard on this list and I’m gonna keep him here.. just in case anyone missed it..he’ll be starting this week and hes a better fit for what the Colts want to do on Offense..if he performs well he’s got a great chance of keeping the starting gig.

New York
STUD-Shonn Greene.. yes I said it.If you’ve been one of those owners that have been holding on to Mr. Greene.. this is the week to start him. Great matchup vs a Colts team that can be beat on the ground
DUD-Jets TEs.. whether its Jeff Cumberland or Dustin Keller dosn’t matter. The Colts are #1 vs opposing Tight Ends so you don’t want to have these guys in your lineup
STASH-Tim Tebow. At some point it will be Tebow Time in NY and he’s actually been a very productive QB for fantasy purposes in the past…averaging over 20 pts a game when he starts. If you’re a team in need, grab him now.

Chiefs at Bucs

STUD-Jamal Charles. Charles is the hottest player in football right now and totaled over 160 yards vs a tough Ravens D in week 5.He’ll absolutely destroy a TB Defense that’s averaging over 20 pts a game vs opposing running backs
DUD-Brady Quinn. Although the Bucs are near the bottom of the league vs QBs Quinn is the BACKUP to one of the worst qbs in the league.. Quinn shouldn’t be owned, much less started
Stash-Shaun Draughn. Draughn has shown promise while filling in for the injured Peyton Hillis. If Charles were to go down again, he has flashed the ability to produce on a run first Chiefs team

STUD-Doug Martin. Martin is coming off a disappointing performance where he totaled only 33 yards on 8 carries vs the stout Redskins run defense. This week he draws Kansas City who allowed Ray Rice to rush for over 100 yards on only 17 carries. Look for a rebound for Martin.
DUD-Josh Freeman-Freeman is ranked dead last amoung starting quarterbacks in Fantasy Football. He’s facing a Chiefs team that held Joe Flacco under 9 points. Sit him.. better yet.. DROP him
STASH-Mike Williams-Tampa Mike’s targets have gone up each week as he totaled over 100 yards on 4 catches last week. Look for his production to climb as Vincent Jackson draws coverage away from him.

Raiders at Falcons

STUD-Mcfadden-DMCs owners have been frustrated so far.Look for him to rebound in a big way coming off the bye vs a Falcons D that is 21st vs opposing rbs
DUD-Moore-The Falcons have been #1 vs opposing wrs. This week will be a tough one for Moore and the Raiders wideouts
STASH-Heyward-Bey-If DHB has been dropped in your league then now is the time to pick him up. Hes been cleared to practice and he’s Palmers #1 target. Just don’t start him this week

STUD-Matt Ryan-Oakland is allowing over 25 points a game to QBs and Matty Ice has been RED HOT.. ride the wave
DUD-Jacquizz Rodgers-Quiz was a popular sleeper pick this year but he has been monumentally disappointing. Oakland is horrible against the run but he hasn’t been getting the looks. Bench him.
STASH-Jacquizz Rodgers-“but you just said he was a dud”.. Owners are getting restless with the young running back but Mike Turner is getting older and has worn down later in the season before. Look for Atlanta to get Quizz more involved in the near future. If he’s been dropped in your league, find a way to stash him on your roster

Rams at Dolphins

STUD-Reggie Bush-Bush has been really productive so far. Ride him while you can, he’ll be hurt sooner or later
DUD-Davon Bess- Bess was a popular pickup last week and was somewhat disappointing. The Rams are pretty good against wide outs and Hartline will get his first. Sit Bess.
STASH-Lamar Miller-The kid hasn’t got his shot yet but Bush is prone to injury and Daniel Thomas just got his second concussion. Miller has a ton of talent and has been productive in limited touches. Grab him if you have room. Hes the type of lottery ticket that can win you fantasy chamionships.

St. Louis
STUD-Brandon Gibson-Miami is 26th against the pass and will limit the running game. Gibson has the best shot to pick up Amendola’s targets.
DUD-Steven Jackson-Sjax has been a huge disappointment for owners that drafted him in the 3rd round of drafts this year. This is not the week for him to rebound against a Miami team that has been somewhat surprisingly tough against the run.
STASH-D.Richardson-Drich came out of nowhere to supplant the much higher drafted Isiah Pead as primary backup to Jackson. Richardson has looked fast and elusive in limited time. The Rams like their young runningbacks so much that they recently allowed Jackson to void the last year of his contract. The writings on the wall.

Bills at Cardinals

STUD-Stevie Johnson-Arizona was torched by Brian Hartline a couple of weeks ago and Danny Amendola was well on his way a week ago before he got injured. Johnson has the best chance to produce vs The Cards
DUD-Fred Jackson-Arizona has shut down better running backs in recent weeks and Fjax is in a timeshare. You may have to start him because of bye weeks but don’t expect much.
STASH-TJ Graham-Graham has yet to produce but the Bills were high on the rook in the preseason. Someone will need to emerge opposite Stevie Styles. I’ll put my money on Graham

STUD-Fitzgerald-Buff is at or near the bottom of every relevant category. Larry is Arizona’s best player. Hell explode this week
DUD-Ariz running backs-Powell is apparently going to get the first shot here but The Cards are on their 3rd, 4th, and 5th string backs now. Someone may emerge and this is a good matchup. But I don’t want to try and guess with my lineup. Do you?
STASH-Andre Roberts-He’s been very good so far but was somewhat disappointing last week. If an owner got frustrated or youre in a shallow league you should grab him. Hes benifiting from playing opposite Fitz

Patriots at Seahawks

New England

STUD-Brady-Seattle is the defense you don’t want to see when you’re submitting your lineup. They will limit everyone but Brady is one of the best ever so The Pats will count on him to produce.. you should too.
DUD-Ridley-Belichick will use the personal that the game plan dictates. Who is it this week against the tough Seahawks in Seattle? Is it Ridley? Bolden? Woodhead? Vareen? My guess is a little of each. None of them should be counted on to do too much this week.
STASH-Edelman- Julian was actually starting over Wes Welker before he got hurt. He’s the future in New England, not Wes. He’ll be included when healthy.

STUD-Lynch-The Pats struggle vs bigger backs and Lynch fits that bill. It will be vital for the Seahawks to control the clock and they’ll lean heavily on Lynch.
DUD-Wilson-Russell is nothing more than a game manager at this points and Belichick will make it a point to try to force him into mistakes. Even though New England is 31st against the pass, I’d pass on Wilson this week
STASH-Turbin-Turbin is a similar runner to Lynch and fits the offense well. He’s the future for the team, if Lynch were to go down, Turbin can put up similar numbers

Vikings at Redskins

STUD-Harvin-Washington is DEAD LAST against wr. Harvin is on fire. He’ll have a monster game
DUD-Peterson-ADP will get his carries.. just temper expectation against this Redskin rush defense
STASH-Simpson-People may be dropping him because of bad game.. he was hurt.. hold on to Simpson until he’s healthy if you have room. He adds a homerun threat that Ponder will absolutely love

STUD-Fred Davis-Minnesota is allowing almost 20 points a game to opposing tight ends. Davis has become a large part of the offense since his slow start. Expect a big game from him this week.
DUD-Morris- The butler has become a must start every week but The Vikings have been stout against the run so far. Start him if you have to but if you have better options, this may be the week to sit Morris.
STASH-Kirk Cousins- The Redskins used a high pick on the ex -Spartan gunslinger after using their high first on RG3.. which was a highly questionable move. But it may have been a smart move if Robert can’t stay healthy. If Griffin misses any significant time, Cousins has the skill and moxie to produce.
Giants at 49ers

New York

STUD-Cruz-We know that you can’t run on the 9ers but someone will have to move the ball. If Nicks can’t play then Cruz will be targeted early and often. Cruz seems to show up in big games and this is as big as it gets. Start him with confidence
DUD-Bradshaw-Its hard to sit a guy that just ran for 200 yards. But this is the 49ers.
STASH-Davis Wilson-Wilson was the talk of the town before fumbling and being benched early in week one. The more trust he earns with Coughlin, the more time he will get. With Andre Brown sidelined with concusiion issues, Wilson has his chance. He’s the back of the future and has top 10 talent.

San Fran

STUD-Crabtree-Crabtree has been a major disappointment so far in his career but has done surpisenly well so far this year in ppr leagues. He got his first TD last week and I look for him to follow that up with another
DUD-Vernon Davis-Davis is a must start in all formats but the Giants are 7th against tight ends. They will limit him
STASH-Kendall Hunter-Gore has help up so far and has exceeded many people’s expectations. His legs have a ton of miles on them and Hunter has a similar skillset. Look for Hunter to eat into his carries sooner rather than later

Packers at Texans

Green Bay

STUD-James Jones-Jones has done a great job filling in for Jennings and has rewarded players that didn’t give up on him early in the season. He’s got Rodgers trust and he’s got the hot hand. Stick with him
DUD-GB running backs-With Benson out it will take some time to figure out what the plan is. The hot waiver pickup this week was Alex Green but look for a committee, at least to start with. This is a pass first offense. Take the wait and see approach here.
Stash-DJ Williams-Finley is an enigma.. all the talent in the world but can’t seem to put it together. He may miss time this week and if he does then the converted college tight end can produce in his place.

STUD-Andre Johnson- Johnson was shut down by Antonio Cromartie last week. Houston will have to pass to keep up with the Packers lethal offense. They know that and so do we. Start Johnson, he’s set to go off this week.
DUD-Tate-Tate is injured and there’s no guarantee that he plays, Foster will get the bulk of the carries even if he plays
STASH- K. Martin-Martin impressed in the preseason but is being eased in. The rookie is worth a stash because of talent and opportunity playing opposite Johnson

Broncos at Chargers

STUD-Thomas-Colston scored 3 touchdowns last week and Thomas is a similar player. Similar but better at this point in his career. Expect big things
DUD-McGahee-SD shut down Ingram and Thomas last week and McGahee is a similar runner. He’s also been fumbling as of late and if he keeps it up Fox will start to take carries away.Temper your expectation
STASH-Hillman-The rookie has flashed skill in limited carries and looks to be the future in Denver. He’ll produce at some point and it could be sooner rather than later if McGahee can’t hold onto the ball

San Diego

STUD-Mathews-The Patriots beat Denver by pounding the ball down their throats and I bet Norv Turner was watching.
DUD-Gates-Gronk only had 4 for 35 vs this team. Gates looks slow and over the hill. Sit him until he produces
STASH-V.Brown-Brown was expected to start before being hurt in the preseason. He’ll add a breath of fresh air to the offense when he returns and could help your playoff team. Grab him now if you have room
